Post Apartments is a new five-story building at the site of the recently demolished Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) building. VFW Post 782 will make their new home in the first floor of Post Apartments, along with the Community Justice Center. The four floors above will contain 38 permanently affordable apartments, nine of which will be set aside for people experiencing homelessness. A common room and roof deck at the fifth floor will have unobstructed views of Lake Champlain. The building, clad in terra cotta and slate, will nod to the brick facades and slate mansards of historic downtown.
