COMPLETE 2022
Franklin, VT
The ca 1935 border station, built originally as a duplex apartment building for two border agents (and their families) to share the job responsibilities, was gutted to the studs and completely renovated into a 21st century facility (new bullet-proof glass windows and all exterior walls (except for the north side porch, which is not programmed space), holding cell, interrogation room, state-of-the-art communications systems, secure weapons storage, staff break area, etc.) for the Customs & Border Patrol. Designed and constructed in full compliance with the ADA and Secretary of the Interior's Guidelines, it also exceeds all commercial energy code requirements.
