A mill that burned down many years ago once sat on this site, overlooking the Winooski River within the historic city core.

Le Corbusier's Habitat section was appropriated with two story units wrapping a single corridor: Lower units with living and terrace on river, upper units with living and one BR overlooking the river.  The brick veneer was treated as a ruin into which a new wood structure was inserted, referencing the ghost of the mill.  Access bridge projections on one side are expressed as voids on the other which modulate the rhythm and allow for alternate unit arrangements.
