Single family home
Principal: Michael Wisniewski & Bob Duncan
This house is an example of a detailed design process. In total we did about 22 different designs and variations. After each one the couple would profess satisfaction and then they would carefully study and think about it for a week or so and then come back with new thoughts. For a long time the kitchen faced south east for the light but eventually migrated to the north side because they wanted to enjoy the view into an old red rock quarry bordering the site.
The result is a floor plan that flows perfectly, each space feels in the right place is comfortably connected with the other room and the site. Whenever we run into them they always come over and say just how right the house feels to them.
