Red Hed Supply
MORE INFOX
1996 Colchester, VT
Renovation/addition to industrial supply office/warehouse facility. $400K
Principal: Bob Duncan
Red Hed Supply is a wholesale supplier of site utility piping and related materials to the construction industry. The company began in a small portion of an early 1970’s industrial building in Fort Ethan Allen, Colchester, VT, and eventually expanded into the entire building. By 1995 they needed more space and a better image. This project included an addition of about 3000 SF of office space.
Given their business focus, it made sense to develop a design around industrial textures and materials, using some of the company’s culvert products in the actual design. The concept was enthusiastically received by the owner, since it makes a very strong statement about the company and its products. The company logo, expressed on the south glazing of the roof monitor, casts an ever-changing (time-of-day, season-of-year) shadow on the two story wall of the reception area.
